Are you counting down the days until Santa arrives? While you’re waiting, why not create your own paper Santa puppet? Make these hanging decorations with your family, and then pull the string to make Santa dance and wiggle!
A fun activity that allows children to cut out, colour and assemble their own Christmas decoration.
It’s quick and easy, so… get your scissors!

White A4 paper
Colouring pencils
Felt tip pens
Scissors
Split pins
String
Download and print the template to colour. You could also print the template that is already coloured if you’re short for time.
Colour in the Santa template using felt tip pens or colouring pencils.
Carefully cut out each part with scissors
Place a split pin where indicated in each section of Santa’s body, and attach Santa’s arms and legs.
Attach string to each end of the limbs to be able to move it.
Attach the four strings together to create a small pull tab, as in the photo.
There you go, your Santa puppet is finished!
All you have to do to make him move by pulling on the string to raise his arms and legs. Enjoy your dancing Santa! Have fun and Happy Christmas!
