DiY Craft: How to create Halloween Witch hats!

Find out how to create unique witch hats with coffee filters for Halloween! 🧙 ♀️🎨

 

A new and creative idea to interchange from the classic colouring pages, this activity offers a great opportunity to experiment with colours. Ideal for awakening creativity while having fun!

Halloween is fast approaching and it’s the perfect time to keep the little monsters busy with an original and colorful activity!

How about making witches’ hats from simple coffee filters?

 

This DIY features one of our colouring and creative favourites that makes it even more fun: with Maped watercolour pens, all you have to do is add a few drops of water and the colours mix and create unique, magical effects! It’s a great alternative to classic coloring pages, while also offering a fun colour mixing experience.

Here we go!

Step 1

Gather together all your materials ready to start!

Step 2

Colour in the coffee filters with your aqua felt colouring pens – don’t forget to get creative with it!

Step 3

Spray a little water on the colored coffee filter. Be careful, you must protect the surface of the table well so as not to have any marks.

Step 4

Let the colours magically blend together.

Step 5

Allow time for the filters to properly dry before moving onto any next steps!

Step 6

Once the filter is dry, draw any Halloween shapes on it. Here, we have chosen the witch’s hat. Then cut out the shape you’ve drawn.

Step 7

Finish by displaying your creations on the black card as a spooky backdrop and hang your designs using string and paper clips!
