A staple hobby that we will never stop screaming about is journaling. Although synonymous with the new year new me trend, we believe journaling can be all year, no rules and much less demanding! Journaling can be a great mindfulness tool whether it be writing, drawing or junk journaling for memories that helps calm your brain. If you’re a parent, this can also be an amazing routine to establish with little ones or a fun weekend ritual. In 2025, a study from the National Institute of Mental Health found a 40% stress and anxiety reduction after eight weeks of consistent mindfulness journaling – how amazing is that!
DIY-ing in most everyday aspects of life has always been popular, especially as a money saving hack or content creation idea. However, the mindful benefits of making things for ourselves are fantastic as a quick fire dopamine boost, due to the sense of achievement and pride in creating something ourselves. Our favourite and easy ‘gateway’ into incorporating DIY into your lifestyle are bookmarks! Simply cut out your bookmark, decorate with your favourite book designs and finish with cellotape as an at-home laminating hack!
