Introducing: Oxford Vision Edition Maths set

Where the Vision began…

Our Oxford Vision maths set’s journey began when a concerned mother came to us for help. She sent us an email, explaining how her visually impaired daughter was beginning to need maths equipment during her lessons and that the numbers and markings on school measuring tools such as rulers or protractors were far too small for her to use. She asked us if we could make one especially for her daughter, but we went one step further… and so the Oxford Vision maths set project was born.

So how is this Maths set different?

Developed in partnership with the RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People), our Oxford Vision maths set has a number of features that aim to make learning more accessible and education easier for all children. We always strive to develop products that are more sustainable, nurture imagination, and encourage children to learn.

With this in mind, our Oxford Vision maths set has a contrasting black on yellow colour way, raised graduations & text of 0.5mm to match the braille height requirement, lines of different length denoting 5mm, 10mm & 100mm and bold, simple fonts & gradations.

We’ve also added non-slip pads to the ruler, protractor & set squares and pin holes for the use of cork desk pads to help hold the instruments in place during use. The set is proudly part of our eco range, with the math sets plastic- free & braille packaging.

What can be found Inside?

The Oxford Vision maths set includes a ruler, protractor, set squares of 45 and 90 degrees, an eraser, a 9cm graphite pencil, a self-centering metal compass, a sharpener and a lettering stencil, all inside our traditional metal, embossed tin depicting the Helix Oxford logo.
