Boo! It’s almost Halloween. Here is a new creative activity for children to do to celebrate. Create your own paper witches to use as a decorative poster, on the wall, as a garland or as a Halloween card, it’s the perfect activity for rainy autumn days!
Activity created for Maped Helix by Valérie from Allo Maman Dodo.
Coloured paper
White paper
Pencil
Scissors
Glue
Colouring pens or pencils
To get started, gather the materials needed to complete this activity.
On a green sheet of paper, trace the outlines of your hands with a pencil.
Carefully cut out the outlines with a pair of scissors.
Once the hand is cut out, turn it over and place it upside down with the fingers pointing down. Cut out the shape of a hat from a black sheet of paper.
Cut a strip of coloured paper (about 5mm) and glue it on to the hat.
Now draw on the strip to decorate the hat with coloured pens.
To create the witch’s hair, carefully cut out strips of coloured paper with scissors! You could create waves, curls or zigzags, the choice is yours !
Glue the strips on the hand as shown in the photo. The size of the strips in the middle are shorter to form the witches fringe.
Draw a face on the witch. Don’t forget the hooked nose!
And here is a nice witch! But you can draw a much more spooky face if you want!
Display as a decorative poster, as a garland or as a Halloween card, it’s the perfect Halloween activity for kids!
